I feel very privileged to have been asked to create this memorial sculpture for The International Bomber Command Centre celebrating "Operation Manna" in 1945, where Bomber Command saved the lives of over a million starving Dutch with a massive food drop using more than 200 Avro Lancasters flying over 3000 sorties. Towards the end of the war 20,000 Dutch had already died of starvation and from 29th April 1945 the Allies dropped a total of 11,000 tons of food and essential supplies and the Americans joined in the relief effort on May 1st.

It's an historically important and very moving little film explaining how Operation Manna came about and how Bomber Command at the end of WW2 swapped munitions for food parcels.
